THE FOUNDING STORY

Leaves was founded by Michael O’Donnell, a longtime entrepreneur, family historian, and curator of life stories. His vision grew from the original Times of My Life® app into the broader Leaves Family Heritage Hub™.
In the earliest chapter, Anthony Phills contributed the original design vision for Times of My Life. His creative work helped shape the beginning of the project and remains an appreciated part of the company’s origin story.

Leaves is a Public Benefit Corporation building private, secure family heritage infrastructure designed to serve families for generations. We prioritize preservation over profit.
Yes—but not in the traditional public sense. Leaves is a private family network: a secure space to share memories, preserve stories, and stay connected across generations without followers, public algorithms, or advertising.
Leaves is designed around lifetime memberships, family media storage, credits, and optional premium services. We do not sell ads or user data.
The top priority of Leaves is to enable robust and secure backups of Hub data. The company performs daily back ups of all Hubs. More importantly, members can export their entire Hub content to their own backup drives.
Additionally, Leaves is working on setting up a 501(c)3 nonprofit to preserve and protect Family Hubs beyond their active use. No family’s heritage should disappear for lack of active family participation. Leaves is committed to preserving what a family has created or stored in their hub for fututre generations.
